Ushers help ensure an orderly flow of people at the Mass. Along with liturgical ministers, they provide an atmosphere of hospitality greeting people as they come to Mass. They will help people find seats, take up the collection, and hand out bulletins. They will also assist in the unlikely event of an emergency.
Requirements for Ushers
- Faithfully attends Masses on Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation and is in good standing with the Church.
- Able to walk around the church to help people to their seats and take up the collection.
- Willing to help in case of emergency (similar to sitting in an exit row on an airplane).
