Liturgical Ministers bring God’s Word and His Body and Blood to the parish community. Lectors are the men and women called forth from the community to proclaim God’s Word at our liturgies. They are vital for fostering a deeper understanding of Scripture and facilitating spiritual growth within the parish community. Lectors ensure that the Word of God is heard and understood by the faithful.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMs) play a vital role within the parish as they help ensure that the faithful receive the Body and Blood of Christ. While ordained priests have the primary responsibility for celebrating the Eucharist, EMs extend their presence by distributing Holy Communion. They also play a crucial role in bringing the Eucharist to those who cannot attend Mass due to illness or other reasons. They ensure that the Body of Christ reaches those in need, fostering spiritual communion within the parish community.
Liturgical Ministers at Saint Robert’s
There are five Masses every weekend at Saint Roberts in need of two lectors and three EMs at every Mass. We use a volunteer form showing the upcoming liturgies for the month and people can sign up for Masses that best fit their schedule. Weekday Masses have a schedule. We have periodic recruitment drives for new ministers. Contact Brent Villalobos if you’re interested in serving as a lector or EM and he will let you know when the next training and certifications will take place.
