Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD)

All are welcome! We strive to assist children and young people in developing a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. Students will be encouraged to serve God and others as disciples. Parents and families are the most effective catechists and primary religious educators of their children. The family provides the basic understanding of faith formation through their daily lived experiences. We, as a staff, are committed to supporting the family on this journey. This is a lifelong journey!

CCD at Saint Robert’s

Don’t attend St. Robert’s or a Catholic school? We offer Religious Education for Students in grades 1st – high school.

Programs

First through Sixth Grade

The formation of children takes place in an informal classroom setting. Children experience their faith through the use of textbooks, crafts, and take-home activities. Children also experience liturgy and a variety of prayer styles preparing them for a lifelong journey of faith.

1st – 5th classes are held on Tuesday afternoons from 3:45pm – 4:45pm
6th grade classes are held on scheduled Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm- 8:00pm.

First Eucharist and Reconciliation

First and second grade religion classes prepare children for their First Eucharist (Communion) and Reconciliation. Children must attend both years, in order to be readily prepared for receiving the Sacraments. This has always been a special time for children and their families, bringing much excitement as they learn their prayers and become aware of our Lord Jesus. Special programs are available for older children who have not yet celebrated the sacraments.

Confirmation – Catechesis and Celebration

Confirmation Preparation is a two-year program. Students usually begin in 7th Grade, with the Sacrament of Confirmation received in 8th Grade.
