Respecting all life, from conception to natural death, is a foundational principle of Catholic teaching. The Church believes that every person, regardless of their stage of development, has irrevocable dignity. This dignity is received at the moment of conception, when a unique human being with its own unique DNA comes into existence. From that point onward, every individual’s life should be protected. Jesus emphasized the importance of loving our neighbors, especially those on the margins. As Catholics, we are called to serve the poor, the hungry, and the imprisoned, recognizing that doing so is equivalent to serving God. This love extends to the unborn, who are among the most vulnerable members of society.
